Experience Points (EXP) is a critically acclaimed VGM band combining groove-based music with classic video game melodies. Based in Edmonton, this dynamic group of musicians has performed for Video Game themed events, most notably Video Games Live, VGMTogether, and GDX, usually as a full 6-piece band with horns, but sometimes as small as a 2-piece "EXP Pocket"; a smaller, lighter unit that requires fewer batteries and fitting easily in your pocket. When Experience Points performs, audience members can expect a high-energy show that will keep you dancing all night long.
Pure Octane is a band that brings the musical worlds of video games, anime, Japanese Culture, and cartoons to life in their own contemporary style. The band is composed of die-hard nerds who have a deep appreciation for both the musical tradition, and the legacy of the media we draw from. Every performance promises energetic, exciting, and fun renditions of both iconic crowd-pleasers and deep cuts from popular media.
Thennecan is a music producer and guitarist from Chile, currently located in Perú. His style merges Prog, Rock, Funk and Latin with Heavy Metal and Video Game Music.
Open World Ensemble is a small but mighty classical Video Game Music ensemble. This Edmonton-based group of musicians found each other through the power of friendship and a mutual adoration of the power of music in games. Boasting a selection of wind instruments and harp, this group’s unique configuration brings a tight yet colorful sound to familiar mainstream classics and hidden indie gems alike.
Bonus Stage acknowledges that our event is taking place on Treaty 6 territory, as well as the historical regional homeland of the Métis, which includes the Battle River Territory.
